ABOUT ABOUT

Join PFS in welcoming Reverend TJ McGlinchey and Hawk Tubley for a PFS House Concert!

Reverend TJ McGlinchey

Reverend TJ McGlinchey grew up with a folk and bluegrass musician for a father, played punk rock in high school, honed his chops in blues clubs, studied classical music in college, and defies categorization in his current endeavors. TJ’s debut album, Tell Me To Stay, is strongly rooted in American folk music, but the Reverend’s diversity is evident throughout. The multi-instrumentalist studied music at West Chester State University and recently completed his degree at Goddard College. As his solo career pushes on, McGlinchey also backs up a number of local artists and plays in the bands A Fistful of Sugar, Lovers League, and The Theologicals.

Hawk Tubley

Hawk Tubley started his music career playing CBGB with the seminal noise band The Hæmorrhoids in New York City. Throughout the 1990s, he lived in Birmingham, Alabama, where his bands, including Eat More Possum, the Freeloaders, the Green Eggs and Partial To Mabel, played all over the Southeast and opened for such acts as Southern Culture on the Skids, Jason & The Scorchers, The Radiators, James Taylor and David Allen Coe. His band Partial To Mabel was voted "Best Folk Acoustic Band" in Birmingham.

Since moving to Philadelphia, Hawk Tubley released a CD of his own material called Cooking With Dynamite!, which Tri-State Indie called "a solid 40 minutes of country, bluegrass, and rock and roll riding the edge of rhyme and reason.”  A new album, Pond Kings In April, is nearing completion and will be released early in 2017.

Hawk will be appearing with bassist Andres Villamil.
