Join PFS in welcoming Jessica Graae and Michael Spear Duo for a PFS House Concert!

Jessica Graae blends her folk-rock style and classical training to create haunting, soulful songs. Her “evocative, lush, and exquisite” vocals are accompanied by “elegant and impressive guitar playing”.  Voted WSTW’s “Best Female Solo Artist” in the 10th Annual Hometown Heroes Homey Awards, Jessica celebrated the release of her second album “Sea Dream” with a release show at World Café Live in Philadelphia. She has performed live on Joltin’ Joe’s Radio Nowhere, Gene Shay’s Folk Show (WXPN), Graffiti Radio, WCHE’s SoundStage and WSTW’s Hometown Heroes.  Jessica has been featured at the Haverford Music Festival, Gettysburg Rocks, Dewey Beach, Bordentown, Launch, Elm City and Ladybug Festivals. Jessica is a 2013 Philadelphia Folk Factory contest winner and a finalist in the 2012 and 2014 Delmarva Folk Hero contests.

Michael Spear Duo is a Philadelphia-based duo and new Philadelphia Music-Coop member, featuring multi-instrumentalist Smiling Ed and guitar player / singer Michael Spear. Michael is a prolific songwriter, having written over 1800 songs. He is a long time Philadelphia Folksong Society member and Spring Thing attendee, and a former Philly Folk Fest ticket committee volunteer and Friend of The Festival. In his spare time he enjoys writing songs, jamming with friends, and performing at local venues. Smiling Ed is a wizard of the strings including banjo, mandolin, dobro, guitar and bouzouki, and has studied with banjo legend Pete Wernick. In his spare time, he builds model boats. The Michael Spear Duo is poised to go into the studio to record their first CD later this year.
