April Mae & the June Bugs describe themsevles as Americana under the influence of Jump Blues, Swing, & Rockabilly - Ba - ba - ba - Boogie! With a dab of N’awlins for extra spice! Smoke & honey vocals, Cigar Box Guitar, Upright Bass, Banjo, Washboard...servin’ up high energy & deep vintage vibes is our specialty. Roots Baby Roots! 

April Mae was born into a family of musicians. Her father, Phil Iorio, played in a local band, The Three Holidays. Becoming The Renegades When her mother, local beauty pageant queen MaryAlice daSilva joined as lead singer. From an early age she was captivated by the spirit she found in singing. "It lifts the spirits; it's healing," she said. Founded in 2010, April Mae and the June Bugs trio entertains crowds at festivals and clubs in North Carolina, Louisiana, West Virginia, Tennessee, and wherever else they can plunge into the American roots music they love. They travel to shows in a vintage school bus they've refurbished and renamed the Boogie Bus and that's been converted to run on vegetable oil!

April Mae: Washboard, Vocals, Victory Rolls, Kazoo, Implements of Percussion.

Dave ‘Catfish’ Fecca: Cigar Box Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Vocals.

Topher: Upright Bass, Comic Relief.

 

PFS and the hosts ask that guests act in a respectful manner and be considerate of the performers and other attendees.

Advance registrations for this performance are REQUIRED.

Admission is free for PFS members and $15 for non-members.

Venue is located in Jenkintown, PA.  Precise address given the Friday before the event or when tickets are sold out, whichever comes first!

Please bring something to share!  Pot luck at 7pm, music at 8pm.
