Per the Bylaws of PFS, all Members are hereby notified that Voting Members are called to action for business of the Society. Your action is needed per Section 8.1 of the Society’s Bylaws in order to “amend, restate, or appeal” the Philadelphia Folksong Society's Articles of Incorporation.
The Board of Directors has called a Special Meeting of the Philadelphia Folksong Society for the purposes of receiving a vote on the following issue:

PLACE: Summit Presbyterian Church

Philadelphia, PA 19119
This event will take place in the GYM. There is a ramp for ease of accessibilty on the Westview Street side of the church. Please use the Westview entrace for handcipped access.
In order to confirm that the meeting place will be of correct size for the gathering, you are being asked to confirm. This will also allow us to contact you/update your Membership information.
PURPOSE:
The Board of Directors has RESOLVED to AMEND AND RESTATE the Articles of Incorporation of the Philadelphia Folksong Society in order to remain relevant and continue to do business as a recognized Non Profit entity under current code and statutes.
The following articles are affected:
3. Updated language in keeping with PA Non-Profit Code
5. Updated language in keeping the PA Non-Profit Code
6. Added (The Society is organized upon a Non Stock Basis)
7. Added (The Society shall have one or more classes of members as provided in the Bylaws of the Society)
8. Added (Dissolution clause in keeping with the PA Non-Profit Code)
Per Section 2.5.2, -2.5.4 of the PFS Bylaws, this is notice to the Voting Membership of such Special Meeting with 30 day notice and the need for a Quorum of 10% or 70 persons with the rights of Voting Membership. Voting Membership is being notified by this email and for any such Member without a valid registered email, a mailed notice will be sent.
The Board of Directors also wish to share their recent work with the Membership and this session will follow. The meeting will be followed with a Society SING with Food, Beverage, and a time to mingle. All Membership may attend but only current voting Members may vote. Membership roll will be checked at the door. ID and/or Member Cards may be required.
